Event Description

The Confucius Institute at Cleveland State University is pleased to announce its first Confucius Institute Weekly Corner event - a combined lecture and workshop on Chinese tea culture and the traditional tea ceremony.

Join the host for the evening, Zhu Lian, as he demonstrates traditional preparation, serving, and consumption of various types of Chinese teas. Discussion topics will include the history of tea in China and around the world, the various kinds of teas and tea-drinking equipment originating in China, and the social, spiritual, and historical implications of tea in Asian culture.

Guests will be given opportunities to ask questions, inspect tea-making equipment and several types of classic Chinese teas, and participate in a traditional tea ceremony.
